Information on Our Outpatient Services

White Deer Run and its various sites deliver both standard outpatient and intensive outpatient programs, acknowledging that ongoing management is essential for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. In our Pittsburgh intensive outpatient program, individuals participate in group and one-on-one therapy. Group sessions occur three times a week, each lasting three hours. Participants in the Pittsburgh IOP will explore topics such as high-risk scenarios, understanding the condition, physical wellness, support networks, legal aspects and recovery, holidays in sobriety, mental health integration, criminal patterns and recovery, personal flaws/value systems and sobriety, interpersonal dynamics and recovery, the role of humor in healing, and coping with stress. The IOP schedule includes sessions Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., or on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Procedure for Admissions at Our Facility

At White Deer Run, we recognize that taking the first step toward help can be incredibly daunting, which is why we aim to streamline the admissions experience. This often represents the toughest decision someone makes, so we prioritize efficiency and compassion. Those interested in treatment can reach out to any of our 16 centers or our always-available National Resource Center. Once connected, our specialists will, depending on the site, conduct an initial screening followed by a thorough evaluation. Some centers may skip the screening and go straight to the assessment. In the evaluation, we gather details from the potential client and forward them to our clinical experts, who review the information to ensure our programs are a good match. Every program has its own entry requirements, but across all White Deer Run locations, the main concern must be a substance use disorder.
