Supportive DBT Skills Programs for Parents

These Parent Skills and Support Programs offer targeted, skill-building and encouragement-focused gatherings for caregivers looking for tools and guidance to help their teens and young adults facing challenges like self-injury, suicidal thoughts, depression, anxiety, and self-esteem issues. Every session starts with a mindfulness activity, a review of the prior week's technique, and the introduction of a fresh skill, followed by discussions that aid parents in addressing immediate concerns, resolving problems, and connecting with a caring community of peers experiencing similar struggles. Topics covered encompass mindfulness, coping with distress, managing emotions, building relationships, behavioral strategies, setting and maintaining helpful boundaries, typical parenting challenges and solutions, personal care and kindness toward oneself, decision-making, and improving family interactions. Meetings take place weekly on Mondays and Tuesdays through a virtual platform like Zoom.
